The calendar for this edition of MBFWM, which will be announced shortly, will present a structure similar to that of previous editions. The first few days will be set aside for the designers who belong to the Spanish Fashion Designers' Association (ACME). These designers will be followed by fashion creators who do not form part of the Association, as well as various promising young talents from the Spanish fashion scene, who will take part in the showcase known as EGO.
MBFWM recently announced its change of dates, following the announcement from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York that it was bringing its dates forward too (from 6th to 13th September), which meant that this event would have coincided entirely with Fashion Week in Madrid, whose dates were originally established for 5th to 9th September.
In this respect, IFEMA and ACME agreed at the end of last year that forthcoming editions of MBFWM would be staged on dates that did not coincide with those of any other important Fashion Week. Furthermore, Madrid will open the international calendar of events for the industry, ahead of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
