With nearly 250 events, 12 external fairs and 7 congresses, the second half of the year is likely to be equally busy
Up to June, the IFEMA trade fair site also hosted 7 Congresses: the 7th Implantology Update Congress, with the latest techniques, materials and experiments in this medical discipline; Expocida 2012 – Pest Control Congress, which brought together experts from all over the world to evaluate the risks associated with invasive and native pest species; Young and Online Congress, in which a thousand young people discussed their relationship with the Internet and mobile phones; the 3rd Congress on Geothermal Energy in Construction and Industry, Geoener, the major event for this sector in Spain, introducing the latest advances in this renewable energy; the 1st EECN Congress; the 1st Pharmaceutical Nutrition Expocongress – SYN, and the 2012 Technomarketing Congress, which consolidated the support of mass consumption leaders for innovation as the key to adapting to the new market.
The 247 other events held at FERIA DE MADRID in the first six months of 2012 included the Pokemon Video Game World Championships Qualifier; Microsoft Destino La Nube; Insurance Week, where attendees analysed the adaptation to the new economic situation of insurance companies, consultants and other agents in the sector; the Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar, directed by T. Harv Eker, author of the book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind”, who appeared for the first time in Madrid after having explained some of the secrets which made him rich to 1 million people in 104 countries; the 2012 VMWARE Forum and the event “Ahora Tú”.
Forecast for the second half of 2012
A series of important events are scheduled until the end of the year, including the European Planetary Science Congress in September; the Business Institute Student Reunion, also in September; the ESRI Congress on geographical information and localisation systems (October); also in October, CPHI, the major international fair for the powerful pharmaceutical ingredients industry, which is expected to be attended by more than 30,000 professionals in the sector and will occupy 9 of the 12 IFEMA halls; the Workplace Hazard Congress, and Interban Network, aimed at professionals in the fields of marketing, finance and Human Resources; and in November, an Internal Auditor Symposium.
