EXPOUNIVERSIDAD, which is holding three consecutive events (Buenos Aires, 19-21 October; Bogotá, 23-24 October, and Caracas, 26 October), represents an excellent opportunity for Spanish companies in to the education and postgraduate training fields to enter the Latin American market, which is positioned as Spain's leading source of graduate students. In fact, according to the statistics of the Spanish Ministry of Labour and Immigration, 80% of the foreign students who come to Spain are from Latin America, and specifically, 20% are from Colombia and 10% from Venezuela.
The collaboration with EXPOUNIVERSIDAD organised by POSTGRADUATE FORUM and IFEMA is being well-received by the sector in Spain, attested by the confirmation of participation in the Latin American fair of the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía, ISDE; the Instituto de Empresa, IE; the Instituto de la Universidad de Ciencia y Tecnología, IUCT, and the Business & Marketing School, ESIC.
According to Alejandro Martín, Admissions Director of ISDE, “it is important to consolidate our current leadership in Latin-America in postgraduate legal studies, and to achieve similar levels of leadership in other professional fields. Because of this, occasions such as these are unbeatable opportunities for publicising our programmes and our methods among people interested in becoming the professionals with the greatest knowledge, abilities and prestige.”
For Antonio Lama, the head of Knowledge Transfer Projects at the Instituto de la Universidad de Ciencia y Tecnología, IUCT, their participation for the first time in EXPOUNIVERSIDAD, through the POSTGRADUATE FORUM, is “a great opportunity to reach the public in Latin American countries with emerging economies in these times of crisis, thereby enabling us to expand our frontiers.
With our participation we seek to bring our range of Masters and Postgraduate courses to people who contact us from Latin America to come and study at our centre.
We consider this fair to be a great opportunity to reach possible students interested in extending their studies and specialising with our courses, to improve their professional profiles.”
Finally, Lama concludes, at IUCT “we will take the opportunity to provide first hand all the information they need on the content of the Masters and courses, the registration process, what they need to apply for a student visa and the information on possible scholarship programmes for foreign students in our country.”
For his part, Javier Ilardia, Degree Admissions Director and Marketing Manager in the Postgraduate Department of ESIC Business & Marketing School, mentions “the importance for the school of implementing an international strategy and the opportunity which EXPOUNIVERSIDAD represents as one of the most important tools to publicise our brand and attract students in the short term, and position ESIC as the leading business school in Europe in business management and marketing, in the long term.
Also, the school regards attending this type of fair as a contribution to the Spain brand, so necessary in the current climate, as the courses our country offers are at the highest international quality levels, even above prestige countries, in the current economic scene.”
Fiorella Gamero, Associate Director for Latin America, says that “IE Business School has high expectations for IFEMA's entry in the Latin American postgraduate fairs. We think that the good results of these fairs at Feria de Madrid can now be extended to their activities abroad, and so we are especially hoping for a successful participation in Venezuela, where we will be present in EXPOUNIVERSIDAD.”
EXPOUNIVERSIDAD will be held in Buenos Aires, from 19 to 21 October; Bogotá, from 23 to 24 October, and Caracas, on 26 October 2012.
