Madrid, 30th June 2011.- The Fifth National Alares® Awards for the Conciliation of Working, Family and Personal Life and the Realm of Social Responsibility, whose Honorary Presidency was held by H.M. Queen Sofía this year, have recognised the work that IFEMA carries out under the heading of conciliation. In this respect, the fair organiser's policies seek to facilitate the conciliation of professional activities, personal life and family life by promoting a sense of balance and quality of life among its staff.
The Alares® National Awards are quite unique and, today, feature a long list of well-known figures among the winners of its previous editions. In this respect, over a period of just five years, these Awards have established themselves as a key point of reference for all bodies, organisations, researchers and professionals who devote their lives to promoting and developing policies designed to foster conciliation, quality of life and business competitiveness.
The Value of Conciliation
Once again this year, the number of candidates has far surpassed the expectations of the Alares Foundation, both in terms of volume and with regard to quality. The fifth edition of the National Awards has brought together some 234 entries, all of whom are competing for the Prize or for an Honourable Mention within each of the 12 categories: small and medium-sized enterprises and large companies, social representatives, managers, media professionals, the media, information or programmes in audiovisual media, innovation and trials and universities, business schools, other educational bodies and research.
The Alares Foundation has been working since the year 2006 to recognise the value that conciliation policies contribute to the business and social fabric of Spain, based on the conviction that the welfare of individuals and the quality of life of employees can help achieve the levels of business competitiveness that are necessary today in order to improve our society.
