Desigual has chosen Paris to try out a new shop concept devoted to footwear and accessories.
This new establishment will consist of a "pop-up store", an ephemeral shop that remains open for a specific period of time and then disappears. The first Desigual pop-up store was opened last 23rd February in the French capital. Featuring a shop area measuring 35 square metres, this shoe shop will remain open between seven and twelve months and will market the new Desigual Shoes! Collection, which was launched this Spring/Summer 2012, together with the brand's line of accessories.
With the opening of this temporary store, Desigual aims to support the launch of its footwear line in France, although this will not be the only point of sale. The brand's footwear collection will also be sold at two of its shops and at the well-known Galeries Lafayette.
Last December, Desigual brought out its first footwear collection onto the market. Structured around five different lines, this Collection is made up of models that range from heeled sandals, stilettos and platforms to sneakers and delicate and comfortable pumps, thus catering for all looks that appeal to the highly feminine woman.
Desigual achieved a turnover figure of 435 million euros in 2010, based on growth of 44 per cent. The brand currently has 200 self-owned shops and franchises, 7,000 multi-brand points of sale in 72 countries and 650 corners at department stores, as well as an online store..
